Points to note when using a saw chain:
1. Wear personal protective equipment to prevent the saw chain from rebounding during use.
2. When cutting, stand on one side of the saw and hold the saw with both hands.
3. When the saw is running, do not run around with the saw
4. Keep the saw properly maintained.
5. When replacing a new chain or using it in a cold area, it is recommended to run at low speed for two minutes so that the chain can be pumped with moderate lubricating oil.
6. Try to avoid collision with rocks, stones, concrete or hardened metal.

Points to note when maintaining  a saw chain:
1. When maintaining and replacing the chain, make sure that the chain saw is not running and wear professional gloves.
2. To properly lubricate the chain, use only high-quality lubricants.
3. After the new chain has been cut several times, it should be checked again, and the tension should be readjusted after cooling if necessary.
4. Please wear gloves to adjust the chain tension to avoid injury.
5. Always file in the direction of the indicator line on the top plate.

Saw Chain Identification Diagram

SAW CHAIN IDENTIFICATION

Pitch, gauge, and drive link count are the key dimensions for matching a saw chain to a chainsaw bar and sprocket.

Pitch is the average distance between two rivets. Common saw chain pitches include 1/4", .325", 3/8", and .404".

Gauge is the thickness of the drive link that fits into the guide bar groove. Common gauges include .043", .050", .058", and .063".

Length is normally identified by the number of drive links, so counting the old chain is the most reliable way to confirm replacement length.

Semi-Chisel Cutter Diagram

Semi-Chisel Cutter

Semi-chisel cutters use a rounded working corner for smoother cutting and better tolerance in dirty or dusty wood.

This cutter profile is easier to maintain, more forgiving with filing angle, and suitable for homeowners, farms, orchards, and general-purpose cutting.

Full Chisel Cutter Diagram

Full Chisel Cutter

Full chisel cutters have a sharp square-corner profile designed for fast, efficient cutting in clean softwood.

This style provides quick and precise cuts, making it a strong choice for users who need higher cutting speed and can maintain the chain regularly.

What is a 1/4" LP .043 Chainsaw Chain?

The 1/4" Low Profile (LP) .043 chainsaw chain is a lightweight, high-precision cutting chain designed for pruning saws, arborist saws, pole saws, and mini chainsaws.

Compared with larger chains such as .325" or 3/8" pitch chains, the 1/4" LP .043 chain provides:

Faster cutting in small-diameter wood

Lower vibration and improved control

Higher safety for pruning and overhead cutting

Lightweight design for battery and electric chainsaws

This chain is widely used in gardening, landscaping, orchard maintenance, and professional arborist work.

STIHL top-handle arborist saws

Husqvarna small pruning chainsaws

Echo mini chainsaws

Makita cordless chainsaws

Greenworks / Worx / battery-powered mini saws

Pole saws and garden pruning tools

Always confirm pitch + gauge + drive links (DL) before ordering

What Does 1/4" LP .043 Mean?

Many customers search this specification when they are not fully familiar with chainsaw chain standards:

  • 1/4" Pitch → Distance between chain rivets, indicates small chain size

  • LP (Low Profile) → Safety design with reduced kickback

  • .043 Gauge → Thickness of drive link (must match guide bar groove)

This combination is designed for light-duty precision cutting, not heavy logging.
